Nothing But Sitting On The Balcony

Poor Franz made a really nice notice for the club but it said "Thursday, September 24" not "Thursday, September 25". What a drag. I've done that sort of thing before too. I told him before it went out and he was going to change it.

We sat on the balcony talked some - just a boring day - just talking. I think the frat house is going to closet of Franz's inventory.

Now I must make a confession before my conscious gets to me. Last night there was a really fun Octoberfest party and I tried to look "German". I wore a handmade black, red and gold shirt to match the German flag. Some people said it was quite creative, thinking I had made it myself. Well I must confess my friend Leigh Eel made it and gave it to me before hand. I just let people believe I made it. Now the truth is out - Rammy Urriah - guilty of shirt fraud!

One Should Not Be Verkrampft

Here is a picture of Franz, Quag and myself. We were talking and talking and Franz gave us a new word - "verkrampft".

I think the Germans have so many really good words and since I an English speaker I guess I like to snatch good words and put them up in a great big word collection box. Verkrampft is similar to feeling cramped up or tied up in knots, at least that is how I understand it. I think the word "cramp" must be a relative of it.

Franz says it is the opposite of easy. I will have to think and see if I can start to use it right. (Franz if you are reading this I hope I have this right)

I keep learning so many different things by just being around people. Maybe one day I will go to Germany and see it for myself. I will have to learn a whole lot more German words though because I don't want to visit a place and be rude by not knowing the basic words to be polite.

Making Clothes

I was really feeling sick in RL last week - what a drag. But I had joined a magick group and have been unable to get to the meetings the past few times. (magic with a "k" means a more spiritual type of magick in my mind, as opposed to "magic" which is the rabbit out of a hat sort of thing) I got a notecard that said to get a magic cape and I did. Then I decided to make a whole outfit to go along with it. I kept finding odd pieces of material and felt just like I was making a quilt.

Then I thought - well let me put my glow ball on my head. I made a glow ball so I would look like I was in an Italian painting. I was not sure why I made it but it seemed to go with this.

Well I was very happy with my clothes although some people on the internet may just say "Hey Rammy, you look like a goof ball!". Well I guess when we go through life if you were always worried about being a goof ball then we would never do anything and just become fat slobs who sat around watching TV all day.

Isn't the idea of fashion really strange? We put these pieces of cloth on us and it is sort of a way of expressing who we are. It is like we are always covering up or something and people never really see who we really are.

I felt so bad when I was sick I started talking to Franz about stuff that was very depressing for some reason. When I felt better I was so sorry I sounded morose. I guess when you get sort of ill your mind will go to strange places. I hope I can send good energy to all my friends - so hear it comes - if you are reading this right now - here comes - buzz - buzz -buzz - a great big positive vibe.

Not Feeling Well in RL

Hello blog readers. I took this picture of Rickie, Franz, Quag, and me sitting at a bar. It looks like we must have had 3 or 4 of those blender drinks! I don't know who did the sitting animations for these bar stools but they certainly put us in odd positions. I am not feeling well in RL and think I better try to rest. I have a really bad cold and it is making me feel sore in the joints, throat, nose, lungs and so on. I hate to be sick. I don't think it is pneumonia, but it may be old monia.

Well last week my friend Rico came back in world and I am glad he is back. If I didn't feel so &#@! miserable I would like to write more. Sorry I can't say much. To all my friends - hello and please have a fun!

Blogs are Diaries Upside Down

Blogs are really funny. When you write in a diary it is secret and you lock it up with a key. But a blog is a diary but you put it out for the whole world to read. It is very strange. Yesterday Franz, Quagmire and I visited Leigh Eel. I took a few pictures and this one, that looks just like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, was the best. We were in Leigh's windmill that he built.

Well some people start blogs and then stop writing after a while. I don't have anything to say today, but I knew a blog post was inside of me somehow. Then I thought that maybe this post is about introducing friends to other friends. Sometimes when you do that you get nervous that one set of friends may not like the other or something like that. But I think it is good to keep generating friends. I just hope my friends list does not explode and cause Linden Labs to catch on fire due to large numbers!

Earlier this week I went to a funeral for Niambraa Lykin in SL. It was a strange idea to have a SL funeral and I am not sure how I feel about the idea. But it was a nice funeral. Here is a picture.

Tamra Sands Live

Saturday started really good. First I met Leigh Eel and Ricardito Castaignede at a drumming circle. They introduced me to a new friend, GeraldWay Destiny. If you don't know what a drumming circle is, I always think of it as a way to make your brain put you in a new place. First everyone goes to a drum and starts drumming and drumming and drumming. You get the idea. Then before you know it your mind starts to make you feel things that you would not normally feel and start to think and say things that are different from what you would normally think and say.

But later that night we heard a live performance, and I want to tell you about that. When I say live I mean live. Tamra Sands (RL link) actually sang to us and Trip Potvin played a live piano. Trip had some visibility problems but he was there in spirit, that's why you don't see him in this picture. Phantoms don't photograph well.
Tamra has a very good voice, I could hear it clearly with my little ears. It was both rich and sweet at the same time if that makes any sense.

I think everyone should try to get to hear a live SL performance, I think if you search for Broadway Live you should find some good places to start.

Anyway there is something very magical about live performances. When you watch a movie you may get into it but it is always watched. But when someone does something live, you are really there participating in a sense. You can feel the energy of the human who is performing. It almost is like riding a roller coaster, sky diving, and skiing at the same time. I don't know a lot about theater, so I can't say a lot of intelligent stuff, so sorry if my descriptions sound goofy.

Art at Verlaine by Leigh Eel

What a mess tonight started out as! People I know were very upset about stuff. I won't go into details - but I will say that I hope they don't stay unhappy because life is short and I don't like people to be unhappy.
Then I decided to wander around and look at art. I went back to see Leigh Eel's show at Verlaine to get a better understanding of his work. I would recommend a visit if you are able to spend the time to look deeply into it.

What you need to do is stand in front of each work and zoom in. That way you can see all the details. The drawings are mysterious so I read each note card to see if I could understand more. I decided artists' explanations of their work are only good for raising even more questions, so don't look to note cards for answers but look to them to embellish the mystery and provoke even deeper pondering.

All of these are very personal drawings and it is just like looking at someone's private notebook. I think that is one of the things I like about them. Sometimes when you look at art it looks like a lot of wowie zowie sort of stuff. Don't get me wrong - wowie zowie is fun too - but it is good to see the insides of people who are willing to share it.

So I hope all who can will take a look at this before it leaves.
