Blogs are Diaries Upside Down

Blogs are really funny. When you write in a diary it is secret and you lock it up with a key. But a blog is a diary but you put it out for the whole world to read. It is very strange. Yesterday Franz, Quagmire and I visited Leigh Eel. I took a few pictures and this one, that looks just like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, was the best. We were in Leigh's windmill that he built.

Well some people start blogs and then stop writing after a while. I don't have anything to say today, but I knew a blog post was inside of me somehow. Then I thought that maybe this post is about introducing friends to other friends. Sometimes when you do that you get nervous that one set of friends may not like the other or something like that. But I think it is good to keep generating friends. I just hope my friends list does not explode and cause Linden Labs to catch on fire due to large numbers!

Earlier this week I went to a funeral for Niambraa Lykin in SL. It was a strange idea to have a SL funeral and I am not sure how I feel about the idea. But it was a nice funeral. Here is a picture.

Tamra Sands Live

Saturday started really good. First I met Leigh Eel and Ricardito Castaignede at a drumming circle. They introduced me to a new friend, GeraldWay Destiny. If you don't know what a drumming circle is, I always think of it as a way to make your brain put you in a new place. First everyone goes to a drum and starts drumming and drumming and drumming. You get the idea. Then before you know it your mind starts to make you feel things that you would not normally feel and start to think and say things that are different from what you would normally think and say.

But later that night we heard a live performance, and I want to tell you about that. When I say live I mean live. Tamra Sands (RL link) actually sang to us and Trip Potvin played a live piano. Trip had some visibility problems but he was there in spirit, that's why you don't see him in this picture. Phantoms don't photograph well.
Tamra has a very good voice, I could hear it clearly with my little ears. It was both rich and sweet at the same time if that makes any sense.

I think everyone should try to get to hear a live SL performance, I think if you search for Broadway Live you should find some good places to start.

Anyway there is something very magical about live performances. When you watch a movie you may get into it but it is always watched. But when someone does something live, you are really there participating in a sense. You can feel the energy of the human who is performing. It almost is like riding a roller coaster, sky diving, and skiing at the same time. I don't know a lot about theater, so I can't say a lot of intelligent stuff, so sorry if my descriptions sound goofy.

Art at Verlaine by Leigh Eel

What a mess tonight started out as! People I know were very upset about stuff. I won't go into details - but I will say that I hope they don't stay unhappy because life is short and I don't like people to be unhappy.
Then I decided to wander around and look at art. I went back to see Leigh Eel's show at Verlaine to get a better understanding of his work. I would recommend a visit if you are able to spend the time to look deeply into it.

What you need to do is stand in front of each work and zoom in. That way you can see all the details. The drawings are mysterious so I read each note card to see if I could understand more. I decided artists' explanations of their work are only good for raising even more questions, so don't look to note cards for answers but look to them to embellish the mystery and provoke even deeper pondering.

All of these are very personal drawings and it is just like looking at someone's private notebook. I think that is one of the things I like about them. Sometimes when you look at art it looks like a lot of wowie zowie sort of stuff. Don't get me wrong - wowie zowie is fun too - but it is good to see the insides of people who are willing to share it.

So I hope all who can will take a look at this before it leaves.

Someone I Should Talk About

Last night I saw Dougg Eebus and we talked and talked. Let me tell you about Dougg.
Well dear readers, I took a picture but it came out sort of bad, you can't really see Dougg too well - so I will take another picture later to show him to you.

Anyway Dougg likes to look like a small cat, so Franz named him the kitty. Well sometimes I call him Kitty as a nickname. Some people in SL are 7 or 8 feet tall but Kitty likes to be small because that is the character he likes to be.

At first I though he was bored with me because he is so quiet but then I learned that is just part of his nature. I think everyone has something to say and offer, and it is deep inside of them. That is one thing that I have tried to learn.

Strange Soup of the Brain

Yesterday I went over to Ricardito's Blue Fairy House and talked to Rico for a while. He had on a weird getup - he looked like something from Anatomy 101 or a late night horror movie. It was really yukky looking if you ask me. He and I talked and he used my picture to test out a script he was writing. He has a lot of exciting things out of this world going on now - I am using my magic thought powers (9 volt battery of positive energy) to hope good things will happen to him.

Then I saw Franz. He had been on a long time and I thought it would be good if he slowed down so I suggested we lay in the hammock. It all makes me think about the stuff in my brain about people. Even though people here are just made by a computer, we each have unique personalities. I guess I can't explain it. We all know we are kind of playing but we also know we are real and can have hurt feelings and all that. All of my friends have a little different personality too that is underneath their images they are made of.

Then I started thinking about what people like to do in SL. Some people like to make money, and I guess that's OK but I just think it's cool to do stuff without trying to make money. I think when you think about money all the time you can get sort of sick. But I guess I don't know all the answers in life, so I just work on the things that are sensible to me. That is enjoy your friends as best you can because it will make you feel good.

The Power of Friends of Friends

Well I have not been in SL for a while and went back today. The last thing I was wearing before I left was a cat suit, I had white skin, tail and ears. I left sort of fast and did not have time to change. Quagmire Juran gave me a friend card but I did not have time to talk too much to him. I sort of was worried he may think I was rude or something so when I arrived I called him to talk to him.

It is so strange to make friends. When you first met people it is very exciting. As you talk more you wonder "What does this person think of me?" and "I hope this person does not become mean or anything" and so on. You may think that you can not have friends in a world where you can just type but I don't think that is true. I think that as you get to know people you can see their souls or spirit or something. Sometimes I have dreams of the people I meet in SL. That sounds like I must be some sort of wacko or something - but I swear it is true - I do dream about my friends.
Well I don't know Quag very well at this point so as time goes by maybe I will more and he of me.

Now I must change the subject to an important topic. I like to try on clothes some time and in fact I crashed from changing my clothes too fast. Anyway - this will sound stupid - but I think it is really important to be sure one's butt looks really good in what they wear. So I tried on some swimming trunks and zoomed around to check out my butt. I think these trunks make my butt look pretty cute. Well I know a lot of people do the same thing. It is important to have a cute butt because you never know who may be looking.

Well aside from all of this I hope to write more on different subjects - some about my friends and maybe some about clothes, art, sculpture, relationships, decorating, and so on. And maybe about how we all check out our hot butts from time to time.
